The Knowledge Alliance for Environmental Defenders is a community of practice that strengthens the individual contributions of 9 initiatives through knowledge exchange and collaboration.
Knowledge Alliance for Environmental Defenders (KA4ED) is a four-year program funded by IDRC’s Democratic and Inclusive Governance (DIG) and led by Asuntos del Sur. The IDRC division is supporting a group of new research projects centered around the experiences of climate and environmental defenders, activists, organizations, social movements, and affected communities.
Community of practice
Asuntos del Sur is leading this KT initiative, which aims to create a “community of practice” that strengthens the individual contributions of each cohort member through knowledge exchange and collaboration. By working together at key moments throughout the project timetable, the community of practice will serve to enrich the development and evolution of each cohort member’s project and deepen its policy impact. Ultimately, this KT initiative seeks to ensure that the voices of activists, working collaboratively on research and outreach, will be heightened in key policy arenas.
